Mostly because the hype is just too big and the film/book certainly is not the second coming of Christ. However, it was a really decent piece of entertainment that missed out on a few opportunities to comment on real issues though.
That being said, I've never seen BR, so I can't comment beyond that. But I think they do address very different audiences and that makes the whole idea of a similar premise not all that tragic, as far as I am concerned.
