I don't know why, but I don't mind that there were exceptional "normal" humans. At all. I liked it, and thought it added to the crazy awesomeness. I mean, why have the cops go into the buildings and set up a perimeter down to 32nd? Because as cool as superheroes are, they can't do everything, and life would be boring if we were all "super."
But nobody is putting the cops on the movie posters, are they? The cops are not posing in the back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back group shot. (I do agree on one thing though, and that was the arrow into the computer. Whatevs!)
My computer gets damaged by slamming USB devices into the ports too hard. But the flying aircraft carrier builds them tough enough to take a hit from a weapon that drives projectiles through steel plates

The Heli-Carrier is well established in the Marvel Universe as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s base of operations.

Hawkeye does basically state as much to Black Widow. They're made for a spy movie.
