The first 3 were fine. 3 books, 3 movies. They cut out things but they were still good, complete movies. Now it's 1 book and 3 movies? That's kind of ridiculous, imo. And it's not like The Hobbit is any longer than the books in the LotR.


You missed the part where Jackson mentioned using material from the Appendixes?

Personally, I don't mind, and actually am kinda looking forward to seeing even more of the stories Tolkien wrote coming to life on the screen.

If Jackson doesn't tell some of that story in these movies, then nobody probably ever will.

So yeah, I'll trust that Jackson & Co. know what they are doing. They did a fantastic job (better than could be hoped for) adaptation with LotR, and showed they knew what they were doing with that trilogy.

Who are we to doubt them? Any of the naysayers actual movie makers themselves? As succesful as Jackson & Co? Didn't think so.
