Either way, you guys, the point of my review was that this was more than just a sex movie.

View original postIs it considered rude in Europe to denounce American prudishness? Why are you so offended at being stereotyped into that particular mold?
Although I guess that having started my review that way, I can hardly complain at people focusing on that aspect of it, or the differences in mentality that there may be on the topic - and in truth, it would be quite interesting to see perspectives from Americans who have seen the movie and either do or don't agree that the explicit sex can be considered essential to the movie.

No. "Puritan prudishness" characterizes much of America perfectly. Leave it in.

Either way though, it caused the thread to derail into quite unintended directions.

I think it's silly and thin-skinned to get offended at statements of the obvious.

I certainly don't avoid interacting with those who disagree with me on most things.

Well, a few more movies like this and he'll have a reputation that allows him to act that way.

I seem to recall the author of the graphic novel, Julie Maroh, also criticising the sex scenes
