It's out in Ireland in the middle of November but I don't know if I'll have time to see it.

I think it's also noteworthy that this is the first film based on a graphic novel or comic to win the Palme D'or, and as far as I only the second after History of Violence to even appear in competition at Cannes.

I guess it says something about differing attitudes between French and English language film industries that a "comic book" film could even be considered for a top award. Yes, I know there's a substantial difference between this film and Avengers or Man of Steel, but there are plenty of top quality English language comics and graphic novels that have nothing to do with people in spandex or lycra hitting each other. Joe Sacco's Safe Haven Sarajevo or Palestine could make fantastic films.
