1. What is your favourite classic TV sitcom (by "classic" I generally mean anything before 2000 and the reality TV/medical drama/HBO-ization/cable dilution of the market phenomena)? Why?

Either Soap or Barney Miller. If I had to pick one, Soap.

2. Who is your favourite classic TV character? (Not necessarily from the same sitcom as above)

Archie Bunker

3. Do you like watching re-runs of old TV shows? If so, what are a few you like watching?

not so much

4. Do you own any TV sitcoms on DVD? If so, which ones?

no

5. What decade would you consider the "golden age" of the sitcom?

The 70's. All in the Family, Maude, The Jeffersons, Barney Miller, Soap, Sanford and Son, Chico and the Man, Good Times, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Welcome Back Kotter, Mork and Mindy, The Mary Tyler Moore Show-no comparison

6. Laugh tracks - irritating or bearable?

beyond irritating

7. What sitcom did you hate the most and why?

Seinfeld. Loathed the characters, loathed the premise, really hated everything about it.

8. What character on a TV sitcom irritated you the most and why?

Everyone on Seinfeld and Friends. Why? I won't live long enough to enumerate all the reasons.

9. Which evil twin or brother/sister did you like best and why?

meh

10. What spinoff do you think was the best? The worst?

Probably The Jeffersons which was a spinoff from All in the Family. The worst were most everything else.

That's it. Switch your main dials to U and then set your UHF dial to 50.

No glasses, no. He also wasn't terribly whiney as I recall. *NM* - 04/12/2009 10:10:24 PM 217 Views
