Yeah, I'm not sure what's with that either... Legolas Send a noteboard - 07/03/2010 12:36:29 AM
Acting of the highest calibre and an extremely well made movie.

I don't really care about the rest (except that Braveheart is piece of utter crap) but really, really hope Avatar doesn't win.

Braveheart, I mean - okay, so maybe it deserved to beat Babe (how did that ever get a Best Picture nomination?), but I think Sense and Sensibility was easily as good a movie even if it wasn't a big epic. And then there was The Usual Suspects that seems to have missed out on even a Best Picture nomination, I'm not sure if there's some special reason for that...

It tends to be a rather bad sign if a movie gains Best Picture - or even gets a nomination, at least in the old system with five nominations - without getting any acting nominations. Same story with RotK - there I do absolutely agree with Cannoli, RotK was by far the weakest of the three, and the way they made up their snubbing of FotR and tTT by just showering RotK with Oscars was idiotic.

Do the judges see the movie in IMAX 3-D? Or just on a normal screen? - 06/03/2010 07:00:17 PM 333 Views
