1972...Stood in line for two hours to see Deliverance. When Burt Reynold's arrow came out the chest of the redneck who said, "y'all got a purty mouth" to Jon Voight, the roar in the theater was deafening. Loudest I've ever heard. Closest was when Darth Vader threw the Emperor down the central shaft of the Death Star at the end of Return of the Jedi. Closest-but nowhere near as loud.


I still get a chuckle out of the fact that, they did the Olympic kayak events on that same river, in 1996.

(I'm chuckling about it now.)
