The voiceover gives a lot of the explanation you don't get in the director's and final cut. I almost think that the director's and final cut are better once you've seen the voiceover version.

I think I prefer it the way I saw it, really, considering how denigrating everybody is about the voiceover, and that supposedly this is how Scott wanted to make it. The explanation isn't actually *necessary*, and like I said, the lack of it contributes to the atmosphere, so it kind of works, though it's definitely not for everyone.

The voiceover really is annoying, no doubt about that, and most of the crap he says is inane filler anyways, so you really aren't missing a whole lot. Some people feel like without it the movie is hard to understand in parts....I can't really say, because I originally saw it w/the voiceover, so seeing it without isn't confusing.

Did that make any sense?? I feel like I was talking gibberish there.
