The beginning could have easily been 5 minutes long and still tried to make its point (I say tried because I feel it did a rather poor job of making a point, because it's hard to get anything across when your audience is so bored out of its mind from monkeys running around acting like monkeys that they're barely paying attention anymore).


Just making sure, but you're probably right. It could definitely have been shorter.

I can deal with a boring movie as long as there's something there to grab my attention, sometimes I just get bored early on and then that's it. Every time I watch this I end up looking for out of character things by the apes (the one walking like a man and then realizing it that you mentioned in your post is the one that I always remember)....that keeps me from falling asleep during the first part of the movie. :P
