The posters think that Cadsuane might intimidate Egwene. However, I feel that although Cadsuane is more capable than her equally old peers, she isn't more intimidating in person. Romanda and Lelaine are tough old birds.

No they're not. They worried Egwene, they irritated Egwene, but only rarely did they make her afraid, and we're taking about a newcomer to all these things, here.

Cadsuane is alarmingly capable, and also stops at nothing to get what she wants. Romanda and Lelaine offer the security that they will abide by the rules and customs of the AS, at least in public.

Cadsune cares nothing for that. Egwene cannot even expect a veneer of deference from her if Cadsuane thinks she's being an idiot. She assaulted an Amyrlin once, after all!


That is total nonsense. Cadsuane is the hallmark of abiding by Tower rule. There are rumours that she assaulted an Amyrlin, but those are obviously nonsense because the penalty is death. Cadsuane openly castigates the rebel Aes Sedai for standing against a lawful Amyrlin. She has never broken Tower law, but she finds ways around it e.g. fleeing when she thinks they're going to make her Amyrlin.
