Moridin has one massive asset: he wishes for himself something only Shai'tan can give him - the final death of his soul - and his best chance to get that is to ensure Shai'tan's final victory.
Moridin is the only Chosen truly motivated to do anything and everything to make Shai'tan win, and who make any personal agenda a distant second to that. Moridin is Nae'blis because he's the only Chosen who puts so little value in the position itself and understands it must be him because all the others are too self-serving and ambitious. Moridin doesn't care for the title or to boss the Chosen around, all he cares about is using them like pawns on a board moving toward Shai'tan's victory. He sees the Chosen, even himself, exactly like Shai'tan does see them: expandable means to an end. An end he wishes for too.

If anything, it was the other Forsaken, not Ishamael/Moridin who were duped by the title of Nae'blis. Moridin knows exactly what the DO and is willing to achieve it. Demandred doesn't. Recall from his POV in WH where he thinks about how crazy Moridin is, he thinks that some of his plans and order were nothing but sheer madness. Well, they weren't madness because the goal was the same as the DO's: to destroy all of creation. Naturally, Demandred thinks it's madness because the annihilation of everything isn't his goal, it's to rule over the whole world or at least his own private empire.
The whole title of Nae'blis was created by the DO because he wasn't happy with the infighting among the Forsaken and he was trying to bring them to heel. It's probably no coincidence that the first we hear of Nae'blis is in LoC when Moridin's soul is still being "processed" by the DO and Ishy isn't around calling the shots. And the DO is enforcing his will, not just with the empty title, but by Moridin's exclusive access to the TP and through Shaidar Haran.
Could Moridin be a false Nae'blis whom the DO wants to replace with Demandred?

Exactly. The Dark One just needs to get free. Then he can break the Pattern at his leisure...

Sure. That's for RAND to win. For the Dark One to win, it is as simple as just killing Rand...

Because Rand is the only one who can stop him from breaking free.

Nah, we already got that twist....it was cool when Verin did it, but RJ wouldn't overuse the idea *NM*
