This is a spinoff of my earlier threat which is threatening to get derailed by a discussion about how Aes Sedai links would fare against the damane, so I thought I'd start a new discussion about that here.
I think, even should the Seanchan get all the secrets out of Elaida (like hiding your ability, inverted weaves, etc.), the Aes Sedai still have some phenomenal advantages over the Damane:
1) The weave of Air that removes the a'dam: As we saw in tGS, this is an apparently simple weave that takes the damane out of action. The moment they are uncollared, they stop doing everything and just stand around. A shielded AS, on the other hand, isn't going to stop trying to break her shield.
2) Links: The first thing this gives the Aes Sedai is immunity from being shielded by damane. Which means the sul'dam won't be able to collar new AS. Which means the AS will go into battle knowing it is a fight to the death, which means their stupid Oaths won't hold them back one bit.
Second, the weaves of destruction the AS unleash when linked far exceed what any single Damane can do. Which means their protective weaves are also going to be that much stronger. These are major advantages in any fight, especially if the Aes Sedai are the ones attacking.
3) Angreal and OP objects: Should the AS use these (and there's no reason why they won't), they increase their strength even more, making them that much more effective against the Damane.
Can anyone think of others?
The major disadvantage, of course, is that the AS have no real combat experience, unlike the damane. But this can be negated with practice, because the Aes Sedai are not bad with the Power at all. Just not used to applying it to destruction.
