I'm pretty sure the damane also have weaves that, when they reach their enemies' necks, remove them from the battle :P.


Too true. The only situation where I could see it being a tactical advantage would be one where the Aes Sedai had managed to sneak up on a Seanchan force. They wouldn't be able to full-out attack, since they aren't really in danger, but they could unclasp the collars, wait for the soldiers to turn their way, and then start fighting.
