The whole idea of endless death and rebirth, with nothing ever really changing... well, it's given positive connotations in WoT, but it could easily be reflavored to, "Nothing ever changes. Nothing you do matters. You're trapped in an endless cycle for eternity."


And look at all the people who have criticized the White Tower and the Aes Sedai for remaining stagnant.
