Mainly because the damane with the Seanchan military forces are trained to be used in battle, so they aren't limited to the same range of actions the Aes Sedai are, and with the greater dexterity and speed of saidar, it's hard to see how the Ashaman could really measure up to a concentrated effort made by the Seanchan military.
At Dumai's Wells, the Asha'man faced a competent military force with channeler support. While I concede that the Damane have more battle experience than the Shaido WOs and will put up more of a fight... well c'mon, Dumai's Wells wasn't even close.
The Asha'man are explicitely trained for war, and more importantly, trained for a war against channeling enemies. The Damane are also trained for war, and presumably that also includes the possibility of facing enemy channelers (I believe there are references to uprisings in Seanchan where the rebels had Damane).
The battle will be brutal. The superior speed and dexterity of saidar won't be much of a factor. Similar to how the balance and suppleness of a rapier is of little benefit when charging a battalion of riflemen firing rolling platoon volleys.
