We've seen the power do weird things (like when that Gateway collapsed). I imagine that Mierin & Beidomon theorised that such a weave could be contained using the Power, something along the lines of nuclear fission. But then it went Boom.
How did Lanfear a.k.a Mierin actually "drill" the hole into the "Bore" and what was the DO doing?
