Yes, I think his phobia will be lessened. I think he'll start viewing women as fellow beings and not potential victims. No, but I do think that when she returns (at this point, my wish that she not return seems ridiculous) it will enable him to deal with her death.


Precisely. In fact, I think he'll end up driving himself even more insane, because he'll be happy that 1 woman lived and then instantly hate himself for rejoicing over 1 when 1000 are still dead.

With Rand, the issue isn't the people around him. PEBKAC. Once he can learn that other people have free choice and control over their own lives, that is when he will start forgiving himself. His revelation on Dragonmount was a step towards that, but only a step.
