Aviendha? Great Lord of Chaos Send a noteboard - 14/09/2010 04:38:20 AM
Brandon, from the interview:

I actually think that TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT is a better Wheel of Time book than THE GATHERING STORM was. But it made for a much more difficult write, because tying all of these elements together was a big challenge. Tying two narratives together is challenging, but then suddenly when you have eight narratives and have to make sure that they thematically work together, and all of that, is that much more of a challenge.

So let the predictions begin, who are the eight?

1. Perrin

2. Faile

3. Matt

4. Tuon

5. Elayne

6. Rand

7. Moiraine

8. Egwene

I'm a little torn over who'll get the most screen time and so qualify as one of the 'main eight' of this installment. I was thinking Galad or Lan, but they both reportedly appear in the prologue, so won't appear in the main portion of the book if history is any guide.

From what I've read so far, there will be many different POV chapters, but most will support the chapters of the primary character focus, the 'main eight'.

What do all of you think? Who will we see the most of in the next book?
Ὦ ξεῖν', ἀγγέλλειν Λακεδαιμονίοις ὅτι τῇδε
κείμεθα, τοῖς κείνων ῥήμασι πειθόμενοι.

Do we even know its 8 for sure? I mean, he could just be illustrating a point. - 14/09/2010 04:52:28 AM 560 Views
I read the eight as hyperbole as well, but who can say. - 14/09/2010 11:53:51 AM 561 Views

Add Gawyn and probably Siuan to Egwene *NM* - 14/09/2010 09:55:47 AM 239 Views
Exactly. He mentioned narratives, not POVs - 14/09/2010 10:13:34 PM 497 Views
How many times do we have to do this, Deadsy? Bela gets a PoV in this book! - 15/09/2010 04:19:57 AM 499 Views

I think the 8 was just a number, but it's easy to get past 8... - 16/09/2010 01:16:29 AM 499 Views
