Probably not... Digital_Eon Send a noteboard - 11/09/2009 10:42:29 PM
A big reason people disliked or found it hard to get through CoT was not (just) because not a whole lot happened (and what stuff did happen was often to characters with long and boring plotlines at the time), but because it was hard to read in isolation like that. It came after a long wait, and it was another long wait for KoD.

And yet many people have said it's much easier to read now that they have KoD to pick up right after it.

I would say you should give it a try, at least. Chapter summaries don't provide the depth and tiny references nor RJ's prose (that we won't be getting much more of!), and if you really don't think you can manage, then that option is still available. But it doesn't hurt to try reading through it, and now you'll have the new knowledge that it's followed by a book where many things ARE resolved.

(Pretty much just as Dragonsworn said, above. )

Give it a try. If you're bored, skip it. You already know what happens. *NM* - 12/09/2009 04:31:11 AM 526 Views
This is what I do with my rereads - 12/09/2009 04:47:53 AM 773 Views

Let me put it this way, since CoT came out I've stopped doing rereads - 12/09/2009 04:54:56 PM 664 Views
It is not worth rereading a book if you "dread" it. *NM* - 12/09/2009 08:49:01 PM 318 Views
