Sanderson's writing bothers me much less than it bothers some of the posters here, especially the more expert posters like DomA.
Brandon's style (he has a fairly generic one, IMO) doesn't bother me much, and I appreciate how much he was able to tone it down for WOT (his too heavy reliance on dialogue scenes annoyed me in his books, but for WOT he adapted very well to a more descriptive style). It's different from Jordan enough, but I never expected it would mimic Jordan, so...
What annoys me is much smaller things, like Brandon's mishandling of some WOT terminology (wrong forms of address and so on... Lord for "My Lord", Dragon for Dragon Reborn etc. there's so many) and that not enough of his "too modern" vocabulary was edited out by Harriet for my taste.
I would not notice that if Brandon was the original writer, but in WOT I found it very distracting. It's like I am into the story and forgetful of the fact it's not RJ at the helm, and suddenly there's a "Please, Lord Dragon" instead of "My Lord, please" that makes me wince and throws me out of the book...
I had higher expectations that Harriet would smooth out all those, as it had been mentionned before the book release that she kept a close eye on that (the story about arguing on the way Jordan spelled a verb vs. how Brandon did is one of the things that made me raise my expectations. I thought if they nitpick over that stuff, it meant all the little odditities had been taken care for! Not so). The prose, as such, I expected to be really different and it's actually more in the tone of Jordan than I had expected from reading Brandon's novels.

Particularly the way he described sex. It reeked of Mormon discomfort with the topic.

Reeked? Great word. It seemed quite in line with RJ's own dealings with the topic. *NM*

RJ said breasts all the time, but in a more clinical manner - folding arms under breasts, etc
