Okay, am I the only one here who rolled his eyes when Perrin's Powerwrought hammer was named? Mah'alleinir? Mjolnir? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! rotflmfao
I'm not sure what's so surprising (let alone hilarious) about the fact the name is a garbled version of the name of Thor's hammer in mythology (unless perhaps you thought it was invented by Marvel or something and you think it comes from comics, which would have been funny but isn't the case)
This is hardly unique.. Callandor is after all nothing but a deformation of the Welsh name of a sword which became Excalibur in the Arthurian legend, and so on and so on. A massive load of names in WOT are just deformed variations from various myths and legends.
