RJ set up such an interesting world and story in books 1-6 that he could have made books 7-10 3000 pages of Conan the Barbarian's poetry and you still would have bought book 11.
And he could have written a 1000 page catalogue of furniture and dresses, had Darrel Sweet draw a midget with crayons on the cover, put a poo scented scratch and sniff on the dedication page, called it book 12 of WoT and you still would have bought it. He knows this and he is still laughing at you.
You are going to read ToM. You know it, I know it, and RJ knows it. And regardless of the hatchet job that ToM is, you are going to read book 14 too.
No! I will resist!
I'm going to get the final volume of the Tad Williams shadowmarch series instead. Now there's an author who always has things under control, and is a good writer as a well.
Maybe at some point in the future we'll get a 'reader's preferred edition' of the last three wot books, with all the best bits in one book. I'd think about getting that.
