Remember Rand's comment in Far Madding about how the guardians blocked "only the One Power?" We hardly ever saw anything from Rand's POV in ToM, there might be more going on under the surface that we don't know, inner struggles that have yet to come out. I think this new Rand is going to be seriously tested in AMoL next time he meets Moridin.
