Egwene needs to preserve her authority and position of power. If her closest friends can't even pay lip service to her position as their organizational superior, why should her most bitter opponents?


The Aes Sedai in the tower? The same Aes Sedai who are a bunch of morons (save a select few) that are constantly confounded by Egwene's "superior" maneuvering. If a girl who spent 16 years on a damn farm is able to constantly outsmart women who have been alive three times as long as her, I doubt she has much to worry about. If those are her political opponents, she's pretty much guaranteed a lifetime term in power.

I don't care for Egwene, but she at least has a pretty solid reason for what she does (most of the time ;) ).


No, she doesn't. Egwene has a great many opinions and very little real knowledge. She may know what she thinks, but her thinking is based on nothing but her fears.
