Unless the world breaks afterwards. Whose to say that the DO won't have one final counterstroke and shatter the world (not the Wheel, mind you)?

Reading the series, seeing with the beginning of each book the repetition of the first paragraph, the constant talk of ages past, makes me wonder if Rand, ranting and raving on Dragonmount in tGS, didn't have it right the first time. What if this is just all an endless cycle, doomed to be done and done over and over again? Now, granted, I understand that despite that, you have to keep trying, especially for the ones you love, but what if this really is all futile?

Anyway, sorry for the ramblings. Its something thats been on my sleep-addled brain today.
