Well, I just got my book and haven't read it yet, but I have to say this is disappointing to hear, especially with DomA ranking this book below CoT. And the specific bits (like ultra dumbed-down characterization) really sound like a bad WoT nightmare. I had my fears about the timeline-split and it seems it wasn't a good idea... it's just not easy to do very well for anyone.

Still, I'm not going to take this to the level axl666 did, but I'm in no rush to read the book now. I think I'll finish tWoK first and then read ToM.

I agree with most of the points you both make, but blame Jordan himself far, far more. Tom - 06/11/2010 12:17:38 AM 1845 Views
My opinion of Jordan's success with the late series differs... DomA - 06/11/2010 03:05:50 AM 2045 Views
How can you say Perrin's story line wasn't needlessly long? Tom - 06/11/2010 05:22:00 AM 1732 Views
