Verin squirreled out of her oaths. Who says that Lanfear can't find a way to do the same? No, I don't think the DO would just "let her go", but isn't one of the big caveats that you have to WANT to be a Darkfriend (unless you're a channeler turned by a circle, and it's hard to judge there as well since we haven't seen it).

On the contrary, Verin said something along the lines of "there's no way out, not really". She was able to betray the DO, not escape him - he is the Lord of the Grave, after all, and she had to die to do it.

I'm sure Lanfear knows far better than Verin what the consequences of betrayal will be. And the only other thing we know about her character is her love for Lews Therin, and her jealousy; somehow I don't see her agreeing to join Rand's harem ;)

I think this is Cyndane's "last chance" to subvert Rand. - 24/11/2010 05:46:35 PM 573 Views
Well he Moridin did tell Graendal that someone else had been given the task of hurting Rand. - 24/11/2010 05:54:19 PM 541 Views
Yes; that's what I've said in other posts, and I'm sticking to it. - 24/11/2010 06:21:00 PM 561 Views
