Aviendha's vision doesn't automatically mean the Light will win
Ava Send a noteboard - 28/11/2010 05:32:56 PM
All that is left is quickly wrapping up the Last Battle (which we've already been shown is a sure thing, thanks to Aviendha's visions)
While I agree that there's pretty much a 99.9% chance that Rand & co. will defeat the Shadow at the Last Battle, Aviendha's visions aren't proof. She can only see what will happen "if" the light wins, since if the light doesn't win, there will be no future at all. Same thing as with Min's visions in TGS; visions of events after the last battle hinge on them winning the last battle in the first place, since if they lose there is no more wheel of time and no more pattern.

Agreed. The series is formulaic and predictable, and even I expected a few more twists.

It's a well told story with fun characters overall, but it's definitely not "War & Peace"

I'm not arguing that it necessarily does for everyone, just that YOU HAVE TO SUSPEND DISBELIEF
