he's just not as literate which would account for his lack of vocab.


Mat has written a one-shot letter before, while he was nervous because Tylin was in the room, and his spelling was perfectly fine.


All of the characters are now different. There is no question. The author is different and therefore the new author's interpretation of Mat is different. We are seeing mat as BS sees him.

Team Jordan okay'd this written letter from mat so it must not be too far fetched.


I wouldn't exactly call that a vote of confidence. For everything else though, the man is doing the best he can with what he has been given.
