Lol, give over Shannow Sidious Send a noteboard - 30/11/2010 05:15:54 PM
I only want to note that the amount of saidar used at the Cleansing was smaller because they weren't trying to use the full amount - they used a large amount to cleanse saidin, but their purpose wasn't to wield the entirety of saidar at one time - that would have exhausted Nynaeve too quickly. When Rand channeled saidar through the Link, he sensed that it was almost as large as saidin but powerful in a different way.

Whether Nynaeve used the full amount of the female Choedan Kal or not is irrelevent. All we need to know is that the saidar used was a marker which can be compared to the full potential of the entire Tower using their angreal and sa'angreal.

Once we have that, we can say "Ah, but wait, that is not the full potential of the Choedan Kal, as Rand channeled a mountain next to a foothill of that".

All we want is to arrive at a rough magnification figure for Rand using the Choedan Kal.

And it seems that half a million to a million times magnification seems likely.

Your entire calculation is guess work, but it was very entertaining and well thought out.

I think of it as having a finite amount of "energy" - 30/11/2010 10:56:05 AM 627 Views

5 miles unaided. And 5 miles x the strength multiplication of the Choedan Kal as a maximum. - 30/11/2010 04:37:21 PM 927 Views

I wasn't trying to nullify the calculation - I was making the point that saidin and saidar are equal - 30/11/2010 06:16:24 PM 582 Views
It's not that saidin is stronger than saidar at all... - 30/11/2010 06:51:01 PM 689 Views
