killing off AS at half their life span ... can you imagine what the world would be like if women like Romanda lived for 600 years? Not to mention how much more mischief the BA could have gotten up to if they lived twice as long!
That aside, Nynaeve wasn't made to do anything. She was given the option of putting aside the AS title or taking the Oaths ... she made a choice. She even said that she would make other choices such as being with Lan or helping sick/dying children in Lieu of her AS title, but she chose to take the Oaths as part of the "responsibility" of being AS.

And they had no right to impose that choice on her. She was raised, and either they needed to publically renounce the authority by which she was raised and retract it or else they are no better than Elaida.
