The Ancient AS symbol as the eye of the foxhead has always implied to me that it was a very old (AOL/WOS or maybe older) artifact. Taking this into account it's not unbelievable, or even unlikely, that Cadsuane's net is a breaking era, more perfected invention.


So neither Mat's foxhead nor Cadsuane's weave unraveler had existed in the Age of Legends.

Both seem to have come from the period after the Sealing of the Bore.
