Moghedien was an idiot to engage Nynaeve the way she did. Reversed weaves to slice Nynaeves and a then a reversed shield of her own and she would have won in minutes.
As for the men, I agree with your thoughts mainly because I think Reversing is easier for women due to their naturally higher dexterity. Seems to me that Reversing with saidin takes a bit more effort so the men don't bother with is unless it's going to be an obvious advantage, like Demandred v. Flinn's circle.

as they have constantly assumed the AS of today are children. She had no way of knowing Nynaeve had resisted her compulsion. She should have been a non-threat.
We've seen that it doesn't take equal strength to cut flows, Moghedien could have sliced Nynaeve's weaves with part of her strength and simultaneously inverted some pretty nasty things to take Nynaeve down without Nynaeve even knowing what hit her.
Moghedien's counter attack was pitiful. Probably RJ hadn't worked out inverting etc when he wrote this particular battle, but it nevertheless highlights that Moghedien is no warrior. Graendal and Lanfear were easily the best fighters among the FS women ... from what we saw of them they at least lived up to the "top 6" billing RJ gave them.
