Epilogue: Graendal-Lanfear Gerbeaud Send a noteboard - 31/01/2011 05:05:13 PM
In the Epilogue, Shaidar Haran confronts Graendal regarding her failures. He credits her with causing the death of three of the Forsaken. He blames her for Mesaana’s death. The second is obviously Aran’gar but who is the third? Asmodean?

Graendal then begs to be given another opportunity to defeat Rand as he thinks that she is dead. Shaidar Haran informs her that that task has been given to another. Is the consensus that this is Lanfear/Cyndane who appears in Rand’s dream at the end of the Epilogue? Lanfear did boast before that she could enter Rand’s dreams whether they were warded or not. Moridin also has the link with Rand. Is he tempting Rand by appealing to both his instincts to protect women and also baser human feelings like lust? Rand “feels hatred, concern, and-like a seething viper within him-desire.” Reminds me of the temptations of Jesus Christ in the desert.

Thoughts?
