*dry* but imagine if he got those skimmable parts WRONG!! LadyLorraine Send a noteboard - 26/04/2011 04:41:23 PM
What if he did something HEINOUS like mix up a horse! Or have Nynaeve wear red! EGAD!!! The NERD-RAGE!!!

The sad thing is, I'm not being sarcastic...there are way too many people who'd go ape if he messed up some tiny fuckin' detail that doesn't matter to anyone but the obsessive. If I was him, I'd reread the series TWICE before each new book!

Also, if he IS taking notes (much like us students take notes on our textbooks and formal "literature analysis" readings) I can understand why it would take him so much longer.

*read a chapter*
*Take notes*
*Read a chapter*
*notes*
etc...etc...

I can see how that would take more time than just a simple re-read.
Still Empress of the Poofy Purple Pillow Pile Palace!!

Is it just me, or is Sanderson's re-read of WoT taking an inordinate amount of time? - 25/04/2011 08:35:10 PM 2060 Views
I would prefer it if he re-read it 5 times. I don't mind waiting. - 25/04/2011 08:41:31 PM 1016 Views
Same - 26/04/2011 01:12:58 AM 887 Views
I would love BS to get a better handle on the characters as well. - 26/04/2011 05:42:24 PM 873 Views
My problems with the series have little or nothing to do with Sanderson. - 27/04/2011 10:50:15 PM 756 Views
Why should you care. Just stop reading the series. - 28/04/2011 09:45:17 PM 861 Views
It's not like he's just reading for the hell of it. - 25/04/2011 09:31:18 PM 1083 Views
Then what the hell is Maria being employed for? *NM* - 27/04/2011 10:50:46 PM 402 Views
As a backup that he can go to when he can't take time to reread. - 27/04/2011 11:15:48 PM 792 Views
He probably doesn't think he can afford to skim; which bits are the trivial ones? - 26/04/2011 04:36:56 AM 818 Views
Sanderson of all people should know what bits are trivial by now - 27/04/2011 10:52:00 PM 677 Views
Maybe, but better safe than sorry. - 28/04/2011 03:28:19 PM 735 Views
Trivial is in the eye of the beholder. - 28/04/2011 09:52:52 PM 770 Views

One persons "skimmable parts" is another persons treasure. - 26/04/2011 06:02:35 PM 739 Views
Oh, I don't mind how much time he spends. - 27/04/2011 05:07:42 AM 674 Views
I would guess that he's doing this. - 26/04/2011 06:06:42 PM 812 Views
It'd be interesting to see his desk - 27/04/2011 05:10:28 AM 771 Views

I prefer him to complete his re-read and have enough time for a good series of round(s) for editing - 26/04/2011 05:06:22 PM 938 Views
YES - 27/04/2011 10:57:50 PM 748 Views
