It is possible this may apply to ter'angreal, as well. It seems that this would account for why Elayne's duplicates are imperfect with the best being subtly flawed as well as why this capability was lost during the Breaking. If saidin and saidar were both needed to produce a perfect, ter'angreal, angreal and/or sa'angreal, having no access to males with the Talent would stymie the creation of new artifacts.


The Seanchan don't seem to have any problem with a'dam. But even Elayne says they're quite simple ter'angreal. Interestingly, these female-created ter'angreal cannot be used at all by men. Doubt RJ was thinking that far ahead when he introduced them back in tGH, tho.
