Wait... You want intelligent meaningful books, but you're demanding action? A Deathwatch Guard Send a noteboard - 02/08/2011 06:52:00 AM
I read fantasy for entertainment and escapism true, but there are usually meaningful things scattered around in fantasy books too. I have yet to see what makes the majority of the classics different from that, aside from being a lot less entertaining.

I'm not defending Martin or Jordon. There are and were plenty of better authors than either of them (particularly the latter), and their books have their share of problems. But I would like to know why Anna Karenina and other such books alone are full of meaningful insights and ideas?

Those who says that nothing happens in ADWD really need to read CoT - 29/07/2011 12:02:23 PM 1057 Views

A Dance of Dragons is hardly filler. *shrugs* *NM* - 31/07/2011 04:43:58 PM 577 Views
Agreed. It could be argued that more happens in the epilogue of ADWD than all of CoT. *NM* - 01/08/2011 01:27:58 AM 363 Views
