As her reincarnation was unnatural. In fact it almost confirms for me that the opposite effect is actually true since the DO was behind it.

Her new body was meant to be a punishment and that would only be the case if the male essence was forced to linger. At the same time she was seemingly designed to infiltrate the female channelers and thus the male essence and ability to channel saidin is a huge advantage since detection was only possible due to unforeseen events that happened to identify a woman channeling saidin.

I'm guessing the for normal folk there is no real gender identity to the soul ... Heroes of the Horn etc aside since their souls remain active even without bodies.
