The pattern picked someone who didn't believe in the absolute authority of the white tower, while at the same time strong enough to provide solid leadership after the turmoil of the last battle.

That the pattern was able to sacrifice Egwene for the greater good of the world was just a good bonus.

Killing Egwene was sad to me, and something of a waste. Much like damane remaining enslaved and the BT being without direction/stable leaders


The LB left the world in a state of flux for the new age. By balancing the power structure and not letting any singular entity get to strong, the pattern increases the chances for peace within wotworld.

The chance for positive change in Seanchan probably increases with Tuon as leader.
A slow build for the BT would probably be for the best. The BT gaining to much power to fast would be a recipe for disaster.
Cadsuane replacing Egwene as Amrylin makes for the best possible combination of ideas. The reforms that Egwene put into place will probably remain in place, while Cadsuane will rule the white tower without the belief that they need to be the ultimate authority in the land. She will also probably be able to deal with the Seanchan in a more rational manner, and avoid inciting any wars with them.


With that said there are few AS I think would be any better. Saerin, Pevara and Yukiri have potential perhaps someone like Bode will grow into the role in a few hundred years and make a difference.
