That's the only rational move to make if he was anticipating a DO victory in the last battle.

That, or I suppose, hidden it somewhere, while he dealt with Demandred, he would then be free to use it against his enemies.


Since when do any of the Forsaken do anything rationally?

And give up anything that might make them more powerful? Totally out of character for any of the Forsaken.
