You need to re-read the Confrontation scenes... TyrReborn Send a noteboard - 21/02/2013 06:18:21 PM
or work on your reading comprehension. We learned everything about the Dark One.

His goal isn't to destroy humanity, but to break them of their beliefs. That's why His only strength is the absence of Light, and so, he is essentially nothing.

It was this understanding that allowed Rand to grasp and pull Shai'tan into the Pattern, because a god based on absence is smaller and weaker than anything. The perception of power is all that gives him power.

And slightly off-topic, it's the same 'power of nothingness' that taints the souls used for Shadowspawn; They can't be reborn as anything but Shadowspawn because the Light in their souls is gone. I BELIEVE this same effect applies to those Turned, as well, and probly Gray Men too, and their original souls are now in the 'Shadowspawn pool'.

Also, Shaisam couldn't gain power from Shadowsouled because, again, their strength comes from absence. That was why he was hunting Rand, because he required a soul of strength to truly become a god like Shai'tan or the Creator.
