And which aspects of his character you're reviewing. I think he's a loyal friend and accidental hero, but I also think he can be opportunistic (with a slightly less bad connotation). Even when he's fighting and the AS want to stop to help people and/or properly deal with the bodies of fallen comrades, he says no, and something to the effect that when you have to get something done, you sometimes have to change the rules.

He's very good at seeing and using new opportunities, just not always solely for his own benefit, but rather his and his people's. So if you allow for it to include his people, you've got a major opportunist who's willing to do what it takes to keep himself alive. Even if he's been expressly told not to do it. (that said, his propensity for not listening to antiquated rules is a big part of why I like him.)
