Of course, if Graendal were REALLY smart, she'd have someone else weave the Compulsion and then get the Hell out of the manor.


Remember this attack came COMPLETELY out of the blue. From Graendal's perspective, she just encountered a perfectly normal courtier doing routine "Who wants to join the Dragon?" doorbell ringing.

So she Compels him, interrogates him, etc. Sends him back out into the world.

Then... a building-sized blast of balefire hits her. The end.

This was unprecedented- I honestly think it would take a huge amount of coincidence/ass-pull to believably say that she had a minion Compel the guy while she was away.
I amuse myself.
