In fact, the Green Ajah were overwhelmed within minutes when the Seanchan attacked. The other ajahs were scandalized by this failure.
I've never believed the Green Ajah to be better at combat than other Aes Sedai. They claim to be, but at almost every combat situation we've seen, other ajahs are equally adept - except maybe for the Whites.
You would think that the Green would have rotations of sisters traveling the Borderlands all the time. Simply to lend a hand wherever they can be most useful. Not just to gain experience but to thwart the Shadow.
