I think by this point in the book, we already know the problems in Randland can not be solved by violence alone. So while violence can not be avoided, it is not the final solution. We should get away from using the Power as the final solution. It works well as a temporary fix until the real problem is dealt with.

As commonly known in the last century, using that much power is called MAD, Mutually Assured Destruction. The Tainting of saidin can be thought of as one form of MAD.
