Sorry, haven't read any Harry Potter books, so I have no clue what you're referring to. Shannow Send a noteboard - 15/11/2009 03:13:32 PM
..a few days after reading it I still had the urge to tear the page out of the book! But Rand's logic really does make sense. Graendal is smarter than him. He needs to seize any advantage he has immediately. How would you have stopped Graendal in Rand's shoes?

RJ has said that there are weaves that can be used on a battlefield to interfere with the creation of gateways. He hinted very strongly that we would see some of them later in the series.

It seems likely that Demandred is the person who will introduce them to us, during the battles of Tarmon Gaidon.

Now, Rand has apparently mastered all of Lews Therin's knowledge. Therefore, I would think he would be equally skilled in battlefield weaves.

What I would have done, with the Choedan Kal, is weave a massive gateway blocking sphere around Graendal's palace, preventing her from Travelling from the place.

Then I would have burst in there and assaulted it in full force. Graendal would be trapped, and Rand would not have needed to balefire the entire place.
