Is holding a shield that much different for women vs. men?
When Rand was kidnapped, Six Aes Sedai were needed to hold the shield as it was believed (and proven) that six was required to have an unbreakable shield. When one of the six stopped, Rand broke free and stilled a couple of the AS in teh process.
Yet, in TGS, only 3 were holding Semi's shield and Cadsuane thought it was 2 more than necessary but was being cautious because of who was being held.
Is this a mistake on BS's part or what? And for the life of me, I can't remember how many BA were holding Elayne, Egwene, and Nynaeve in TDR and don't have access to my books to check it out.
