When Egwene thought Elaida was the next thing to a Black Sister, Elaida was next to a Black Sister.
What creeps me more is Sheriam's statement/emphasis that Egwene must care for herself now. Very obviously, by this time Verin had already told the Supreme Council that she had been told to give notes on the 13 BA to Egwene. And while Egwene was worried about Elaida reading through those notes, Sheriam already knew about them! Her smile when she tells Egwene she isn't Aes Sedai yet may also have a sinister meaning (though it may not, just as easily).
