What things irritated you in the book? I mean this strictly from a plot or character PoV, not inaccuracies or problems you had with Brandon's writing. Here are mine..
Those are actually the sum of what irritated me about the books.

1. The Aes Sedai calling Nynaeve 'child'. It's so ridiculous that a woman who has accomplished so much is still being looked at as an Accepted.
She didn't meet their technicalities. In fact, she is not even truly Aes Sedai. That is ALL that counts with them. They call her child, because she is an initiate and not a sister. Recall how when Siuan and Leane were Healed they said that being as weak as they are is worse, as far as dealing with the other sisters are concerned, than not being able to channel. If Nynaeve could not channel, they would be talking to her like a normal woman. But because she is not an Aes Sedai, of course they are going to treat her that way. What is her claim to the title? Only Egwene's authority, and Merise's response to the rebel Hall was the best position I have ever seen any sister take on the situation (except for Nynaeve who isn't really loyal to the Tower). This was not irritating to me in the least, because it is perfectly consistant with the Tower's attitude, past behavior and my low opinion of them. Even Sts. Verin & Moiraine had it and expressed the attitude in the past of the inherent inferiority of channelers who were not Aes Sedai.

2. Gawyn still not believing anyone that Rand didn't hurt his mother. Gareth was probably the fourth person to try and pursuade him.
Perfectly in keeping with the themes of belief and perception. It's kind of good in a way that a. the theme is still being maintained, and b. that little petty stuff like this is still available for Rand - that not all objection is from background characters who can be steamrolled and forgotten. Like it or not, there is not a lot Rand can do about Gawyn, even if the twerp is actually fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

3. The absence of Graendal on screen. In some ways this was her book, but she was absent.
She's a master of mind-games and psych-outs. Her mystery and vagueness keeps up the image of her, which supports Rand's assessment of her as an adversary.

4. Having once again heard no news on what Demandred is doing.
He's not a threat if you know where he is or how he's coming at you. Nothing killed Semirhage's menace faster than watching her fumble around ineptly as Anath.

5. Bubbles of evil. They get in the way of everything. Go away.
They need to be worse. So far, the way things are going, the current conflict has not even matched the War of the Hundred Years or the Trolloc Wars for destruction or upheaval, when in actuality, it is supposed to come near to the Breaking of the World. No one would mistake those other two crises for a second Breaking, but that is what we are supposed to get with Rand. Maybe not as bad as the last, as there are suggestions that some of the current civilization will be preserved, but the world should go through worse than it did when Hawkwing died.
